CHARITY FESTIVAL
METIS TA ZIK

Métis ta Zik is a charity festival based on musical eclecticism organised by the BDA and Le Foyer of Euromed Management management school. MTZ gives the opportunity to the public with wide and varied tastes to discover or appreciate various music styles during a festive evening with all the profits going to a charity. Moreover, the very modest ticket price (around 15 euros) means the concert is accessible to those on low budgets. Mixing, whether musical, cultural or social is the essential value of the festival.

Concerned to get involved in the cultural life of Marseille, and even more to become a driving force behind it, in 2005, the organisers of MTZ created a springboard concert. This is presented in the form of a competition between several local groups presided over by a panel of professional judges. Even if MTZ allows all the musicians of the springboard to appear before the audience of "Le Poste à Galène" (250 people in 2006, 400 in 2007), it especially offers the possibility of the winners to record a sample in a studio (2 to 4 tracks) over 3 days and to play live with recognised artists during the grand MTZ concert. In this way the festival, as well as proposing a diversified programme is a promoter of groups of the region.
