BEM and Euromed Management: Building together a major global Business School

On the 16th and 17th of January respectively the General Assembly of the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Pierre GOGUET and the Board of Trustees of Euromed Management, chaired by François Pierson, have endorsed a merger process between the two Business Schools: BEM Bordeaux Management School and Euromed Management (Marseille). This merger will give rise to a school that will accommodate 10,000 students over four continents. The stated objective of this process is clear: to become one of the top 15 European Business Schools. Initiated by the Bordeaux and Marseille Chambers of Commerce this merger should become effective early 2013.

The Business Schools of these two major Southern French cities share the same profile: international recognition (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB accreditations), high-quality teaching and a graduate profile closely matching the requirements of contemporary business. Both Schools are in full agreement in their assessment of the current issues in management higher education and in the belief that the sector is undergoing a major revolution. French business schools have never been faced with such radical transformation.

An 83 million-euro consolidated budget and a potential 159-strong faculty of teacher/researchers.

BEM and Euromed Management share common values, an identical approach to quality, compatible views on teaching and learning and similar strategic orientations. Their merger will create a new Group that will become from the outset a significant player on the global market if only in terms of the strength of its new combined size. This is a superb opportunity for all concerned to meet the expectations of both students and business with continuously improved standards.
