Global Compact :
Global Compact was mentioned in January 1999 during the Davos summit by Kofi Annan - Secretary General of UNO - and was created in 2000. This pact illustrates the motivation of industry players, NGOs and institutions to play a part in world growth and development within a context of "positive" globalisation. Global Compact has already approximately 3300 member companies in 56 countries, including more than 200 French companies, and also approximately ten Schools of Management around the world. Their actions concern ethical practices, fair trade, development aid to needy countries, and aim to promote the "responsible" and "moral" approach adopted by companies. Global Compact defines ten principles designed to accompany global development. Euromed Management joined Global Compact on 16th May 2005. The United Nations programme aims to promote a set of fundamental values to be enforced within companies.
In February 2006, Euromed Management held the first Global Compact meeting in the region. Mr. Bugada, in charge of communication for UNO in France and Monaco, and the member companies in the region were present at this event.
